Update: as of 5:45 p.m. crews remain in the field working to restore power to approximately 540 members who remain without power. Crews have located 5 broken poles on the system. While the majority of members should be restored in the next couple of hours, our operations team is now estimating that it will take until 10:00 p.m. to restore all power. We thank you for your continued patience.
Following Thursday afternoon’s storm, more than 2,400 NGEMC members were left without power in approximately 80 separate outage events. Crews are in the field working to assess and repair the damage.
Based on current outage numbers, our operations team is expecting the full restoration effort to last into Thursday evening. All available crews are in the field and will work around the clock until power is restored to everyone.
Heavy winds and rain from the storm brought down numerous trees and limbs and created widespread damage to NGEMC lines, including broken poles and cross-arms and multiple spans of wire down throughout the region.
Due to the widespread nature of the storm damage, NGEMC cannot give individual outage restoration estimates at this time. For households with members who rely on electricity for vital medical equipment, we strongly encourage that you have a plan in place for relocating to a facility with power.
As of 3:45 p.m. crews have made excellent progress and continue their work to restore power to approximately 1,260 members still without power. Further updates will be posted to this page.
