Before using the online service application, please note:
Applications are processed within one to two business days after they are received. The online application may now be completed for any new service. If you require new service on the same day, please select the next available day on the online application and follow up with a call to any of our offices or notify us when responding to our initial email with your id and lease/proof of ownership.
To apply for service in any of our district offices during normal business hours, an applicant should bring the following items:
For information regarding Application for Membership and Electric Service, please read our Service Rules and Regulations, specifically Sections 101, 102, 103 and Appendix A (Deposit Policy), or call Member Services at any of our four offices.

To request to have your North Georgia EMC service disconnected, simply log in to your online account and select the "Disconnect Service" option under the "Services" menu. Please note, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice to disconnect service.
If you are moving to a new location also on NGEMC lines, you will need to complete a New Service application. As a part of the application, you will be asked if you have ever had service with NGEMC before. Please select "Yes" and enter your current account number.
If you need to disconnect your electrical service for any kind of project or repairs, please contact our office directly to schedule the disconnection and again when the work is completed to reconnect.
Please note: you will need to have the completed changes or repairs inspected by your local building inspector's office before your service is reconnected.
If you or your business is not currently an active member of North Georgia Electric Membership Corporation with an electric service in its name, you will need to complete an application for membership. Please click here to begin your online application. Membership, connection fees and security arrangements must be finalized before service can be connected. Once you have established membership, please follow the steps below to complete your service installation.
If you have a current membership and need an additional electric service or service expansion, please call one of our offices to initiate your new account.
If your project requires a temporary service meter for construction, please note that delivery of temporary service can take up to two weeks after your application and inspection documentation are received.
When you are ready to apply for permanent service, please call one of our offices. Remember that if you are not a current member on NGEMC lines, you will also need to complete the New Membership Application. Please click here to begin your online application.
The design technician will visit with you at the site to determine the scope of the project and the placement of the electrical service.
From this site visit, the technician will outline the steps that need to be taken before your project can be finalized and your permanent service activated. He or she will check off the job requirements that you will need to meet and those for which North Georgia EMC are responsible. The design technician will send you a copy of your project checklist (Customer Information Sheet) in the days following the site visit. Some items your checklist may include are listed below.
Please notify NGEMC at any of our office locations as soon as all requirements listed on your Customer Information Sheet have been met and the final inspection by the code official has been completed. IMPORTANT: Please allow up to two weeks from the date you notify us for installation and completion of the service.
