Why Do We Hold Annual Meetings?
Our Annual Meeting event is just around the corner on Thursday, August 4. For NGEMC (and other cooperatives nationwide) the annual meeting is required by the State Charter that established NGEMC in 1936. An electric cooperative is an organization created and governed by the people it serves, for a particular purpose. Annual meeting is the forum in which members come together, stay informed, and participate as a member of the cooperative. Each year at the Annual Meeting event, you will hear the cooperative’s annual report, elect board directors, tour community booths, learn more about NGEMC products and services; among other activities and entertainment.
This year the 80th Annual Meeting event will be held on Thursday, August 4 at the Dalton Convention Center. Doors open and registration begins at 10:30 am, with the business meeting starting at 1:15 pm. For quick registration, bring your July Georgia Magazine cover wrap along with a form of identification. The keynote speaker is TVA President and CEO, Bill Johnson.
