How to Pay My Bill

Bill Payment Options
North Georgia EMC offers several ways to pay your monthly electric bill. You can pay by bank draft, E-Check (electronic check), or by credit-debit card or in person at any of our four offices.
A convenient way to pay your electric bill is through electronic bank draft. Your account is debited on the due date of the bill. Members who sign up for bank draft in any of our offices must also fill out a form and supply a voided check of the account to be debited. Members who sign up online for bank draft do not need to supply a voided check to get the process started, since they will be entering their account number and routing number online.

Free E-Check payment option
E-Check is a free, electronic bill payment option available to customers either online or over the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. E-Check has no convenience or transaction fee and is a great option for any NGEMC customer wanting to streamline the bill-paying process. To pay by E-check, a customer must first set up a profile. You can set up your profile online anytime, or set it up over the phone during normal business hours.
When you set up your profile online, you will first want to visit the customer log-in page.Once there, log in with your account number or user I.D. and password and click Log In. On the Account List page, scroll over the Account Information tab at the top and click E-check Profile. On the E-check Profile page, fill in all the blanks, click Submit and your profile setup is complete.
If you are ready to make a payment by E-check, scroll over the Payments tab at the top of the page and click on Make Payment. At the Payment Redirect Notice page, click Yes and you will be sent to the Payment Option page. Here, click Payment by E-check. On the E-check Payment Gateway page, enter the amount to be paid in two fields, click Submit and your bill has been paid.
You can also set up your E-check profile by calling any NGEMC office and speaking with a member services specialist. You will need your banking information to establish your profile.
When paying by E-Check, be prepared to provide the following required information: driver’s license number, bank routing number, bank account number, date of birth, phone number and the type of account (checking or savings).
The E-check profile does not provide for multiple bank accounts. If you wish to pay multiple NGEMC accounts using more than one bank, you will need to contact your local NGEMC office each time you wish to make payments and a member services specialist will complete the transactions.
NGEMC offers E-Check as a service in partnership with Southeastern Data Cooperative (SEDC), a third-party provider of secure electronic payment options for NGEMC and other utilities.

Pay your bill with credit/debit card
Use your VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express to pay your electric bill either online or over the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, NGEMC no longer accepts credit/debit card transactions over the counter or through drive-thrus. A convenience fee of 2.45 percent applies to each transaction. There is no limit on the dollar amount of each transaction.
Self-Service Payment Centers
Self-service payment centers are located inside the Dalton and Fort Oglethorpe offices and outside the Calhoun office at the drive-thru. The Dalton and Fort Oglethorpe touch screen stations can be used during business hours while the Calhoun office touch screen payment station can be used 24/7. The self-serve payment centers will take debit-credit card, E-Check, and cash payments. However, any change due from cash payments will be credited to the next bill.
Mail, drop box, drive thru window, or in person
Bills can always be mailed, placed in our 24-hour drop boxes or brought to our local offices. Attendant served drive thru windows at NGEMC offices in Calhoun, Dalton, and Fort Oglethorpe are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The drive thru at NGEMC's Trion office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A self-service payment center lane is also located at the Calhoun office drive thru and can be accessed 24/7.
Important to know if paying by check
NGEMC customers who provide a check as a payment authorize North Georgia EMC either to use the information from your check to make a one-time electronic fund transfer from your account or to process the payment as a check transaction.
When we use information from your check to make an electronic funds transfer, funds may be withdrawn from your account as soon as the same day we receive your payment and you will not receive your check back from your financial institution.
